The very first team in a person’s life is their family. Naturally, due to closeness and daily presence, we often do not consider parents and grandparents as “team” members. We see them as loved ones who care for us, or whom we care for, and frequently we do not set ambitious common goals for the future.
Why? Let’s explore this.
A family usually consists of representatives from multiple generations, always includes people of different genders, ages, and interests. In modern families, people may practice different religions while raising children together, living together, and even working together. So why do we not regard the family as our very first, foundational team and strive to develop together based on shared values and desires?
If we can build harmonious relationships within a family, create a common vision of family goals and legacy, this knowledge and skill will help us build a team in business and any other social activity – an effective, successful, flexible, and strong team for many years.
Shared values are always at the heart of harmonious relationships. Everything else can differ, but values must be upheld by everyone. An example of a family where people decided to create and uphold shared values despite not being blood relatives, living in different countries, and the unique traits of each person, – is the family of Victoria Esaulova, the founder of the You Inspire project.
In the photo above, you see six strong, outstanding individuals – Victoria, her husband, and their parents. There is a hierarchy, respect, and relationships; a family charter (rules) was created, and a family video archive was shot and edited, where everyone shared their life stories and messages. Work on relationships maintains every day, but since it is built on principles understandable to everyone, such work – is a joy.
The You Inspire team was also created on these principles—devotion to a common cause and the desire to inspire people, including creating harmonious relationships within families. With this goal in mind, we created Legacy Projects, which you can learn more about in the “Services. Legacy Projects. Family Archive” section.
Please, appreciate your family—it is an incredible source of inspiration for reaching great heights.
