A senior executive contacted me looking for an executive coach for one of his team members.
The issue sounded familiar: communication problems inside the team.
The employee had recently relocated to Cyprus and was struggling to integrate and establish cooperation with colleagues.
But what interested me most was not the problem itself.
It was the assumption behind the call: that coaching is something you bring in to “fix” a person. To resolve one conflict, improve one relationship or help someone “adapt.”
And this is where many organizations still misunderstand the true strategic value of coaching.
Executive and team coaching are not corporate firefighting.
They exist to improve how people think, cooperate, communicate, lead, build trust and create results together.
And the niche I specialize in – Contracting & Alignment – goes even deeper.
I would not even call contracting a strategic tool. I see it as the foundation of human cooperation. Because most business dysfunction does not begin with incompetence, – it begins with misalignment.
In simple words, people often work inside the same company while operating from completely different internal contracts: different understandings of “how things should work”.
And since people cannot read each other’s minds -> they ASSUME, interpret, and expect things that were never explicitly discussed.
This is why I believe so deeply in contracting.
And no – contracting is not about legal contracts.
It is the human contract between adults.
A conscious agreement about: HOW exactly are we going to work together?
- What do we expect from one another?
- How do we communicate under pressure?
- Where does – yours and mine – responsibility begin and end?
These conversations sound simple. In reality, they are transformational.
When clarity replaces assumptions, cooperation changes completely.
And as a 100% direct consequence: ->culture improves ->performance improves ->productivity improves.
Not because people suddenly became “better.” But because ambiguity disappeared.
Traditional onboarding is no longer enough.
Policies, reporting lines, and KPIs do not create alignment.
Intentional human conversations – do.
Personally, contracting has transformed my own professional life.
- Some collaborations this year never started because we realized early that we were not aligned in values or ways of working.
- At the same time, some of the strongest professional relationships were built precisely because of alignment conversations from the very beginning.

Contracting is not a soft skill. It’s one of the meta-skills: the operating system that regulates all other skills.
And perhaps this is also the best way to explain who I am and how I work:
Strategic clarity + Fast alignment + Honest conversations.
And human contracts that transform the way people work together.
